This is an archived guestbook, you can no longer post in this guestbook. Please post in Sue's Blog. THANKS!!!

I love all Sue Zipkin designs and colors. I have a great Sweet Shoppe collection but have found I really love the Sangria even better (although I use both in my kitchen). I would love some canisters and other pieces and can't find them anywhere anymore. Does anyone know where I can purchase Sangria accessories?

Have seen the Sango Sangria fabric on-line at Joann Fabrics in the past, but not currently available. Any suggestions on where I might find that would be greatly appreciated. I have the entire set of dishes, but would like to do curtains for my new kitchen. Thanks.

It takes a lot for me to be giddy over something, but I absolutely love the Sweet Shoppe Christmas design. I've started my collection off with the sleigh which I recieved as a Christmas gift, and today I bought the salt and pepper shakers along with the 2-tier tray. I would have bought more, but that's all the store had in stock. I would love to get the set of 4 dinner plates and salad plates next. I plan on keeping the collection out all winter, not just Christmas time. Thanks!

I found Sweet Shoppe Flowers for the first time at an Ollie's store where they had tissue boxes and soap dispensers for $3.99 each! I had no idea who Sue was but bought them immediately and loved them! Then I did some research on ebay. What an amazing collection of patterns and colors! I have fallen in love with Sweet Shoppe, Sangria and Tuscan Gardens! Does anyone know where (besides Ebay..I try daily!)I might find the wastebasket and floor mat for the bath in the Sweet Shoppe pattern? I got the shower curtain on Ebay and would LOVE to complete the ensemble! Thanks for the happy colors, Sue! Wonderful art!

Hi! I am writing with gratitude for your work and a wish to surprise (or may be not, considering how famous you are) with how I got some of your plates :) I am a Ukraine citizen, who has some friends in Moscow. So, once I went there and with no particular purpose we entered some supermarket that was selling chinese stuff to buy something to eat before we sit in the train. That's where caught a glimps of nice looking plates and bowls. I decided to buy three of each, just for fun. They were very unusal. Those were three strawberry field salad plates and three bowls Sky by Sango, without your name on them. at that time i was in the mood for having no matching pieces in the tableware :)))) I thought I would present the plates to my friends, but couldn't bare giving them away:) I wish I bought more.. I haven't seen any of your works in Kyiv.. Do you have fans in Ukraine? you do now :) Thank you very much for great mood! Sincerely, Oksana

HELP!!! BIRD AND BEES PATTERN. I have the essentials but really need the pasta bowl. I would welcome anything, anyone finds or knows how to get. I check ebay every 2 days to see whats new and occationally find an odd piece. It's still the best place to find all the patterns. Hi, I work for the Libbey Factory Outlet in Toledo. We have carried a few of Sue's patterns in our glassware store and I'm in love with the one. Unfortunately I can't remember the name. It was done on goblets in a band of light colors. a very pale red and yellow, also a green and a tan color. Most of it looks as if the colors are meant to look as if they are "woven" if that makes sense. There are leaves and other pictures but the main theme is the colors in a rather jumbled checker board pattern. Does any one know what I'm talking about? And I'd love to know if this pattern is being done in kitchen accesories like wall paper or table clothes.

I bought the Potpourri designs in 1997. I never tire of them, and they bring a smile to my face everytime I get them out of the cupboard. I am picky, and refuse to have more than two plates per design. I love how it doesn't match, but when you place them together, the similar themes shine through. I love acquiring new pieces and putting them together with my existing collection. Besides the beautiful creative artwork, it takes talent to design a "poutpourri" of different pieces that come together perfectly. Check ebay, replacements.com, and tabletop.com for the best selection! I'm so glad you have a website so I can tell you how wonderful you are!

Hi, I just discovered Sue Zipkin this year while searching for mosaic tiles on ebay. I have made lots of mosaic art piece using tiles made from your dishes. I also collect dishes and when I saw a few of your pieces I was hooked. I now have 5 different sets and love them all. I can't wait for your new designs. I set my table with a different set of dishes each month and display many on my walls and in my china hutch. I collect mainly Debbie Mumm, but your dishes are now also a favorite. Okay girls, anyone who has been looking in vein for the Sweet Shoppe fabric this comment is for you! It is available at Joann's Stores. It is under the line called Best Quilter's Prints. The name has nothing to do with Sweet Shoppe or Sue Zipkin. So if you go in and ask for that you will be looking a long time, like I was. I have line item numbers so you can locate it. You will not be able to find it online because they don't sell it online. Call Joann's at 1-888-739-4120 and ask for product research line. Give them the item numbers I am about to give you, and they will be able to tell you where the fabric is located and how much they have. The number for the patchwork, which they call multi is 6988026. The number for swirly or they call pink and blue is 6988067. Red Flower is 6988075. Blue with yellow is 6988034. Pink with stars (don't know what this looks like by name, just have to go and see, my store didn't have it) 6988042. Yellow is 6988059. Finally yellow with small is 6988083. I only fot six numbers. I don't know if there are anymore prints than six, that was all I was able to get a hold of. If you know of anymore prints, please let me know. If anyone has any questions for me, please feel free to e-mail me. Thanks! Christa Shue

What stores carry your designs? I am also still looking to finish off my collection of Birds and the Bees anywhere I can but pick'ins are slim now. I have wiped out T.J. As a Close to My Heart consultant, the first time I saw The Sweet Shoppe pattern was at the home of one of my customers. I have since started buying the pieces and combined it with the Birds and the Bees canister set. I just bought a new living room set and love the colors, blue couch, peach love seat and green chair and ottoman, only to realize they go with the colors in The Sweet Shoppe. Surely soem company has material that matches this...I've seen the pot holders and placemats!!! Any help in finding some????

Hi Kelli L & all who are searching for Sweet Shoppe, I have seen some of the wooden items on eBay. For those of you who have been searching for Sweet Shoppe items there are often items being auctioned on ebay. Sango might have a few item left . Thanks for all your kind guestbook posts!! Sue - We just finished having our kitchen remodeled. I chose the Sweet Shoppe collection for my new dishes, etc...then I found out they were discontinued. I desperately searched the internet(and begged!)and between Bed Bath & Beyond and the Sango warehouse purchased a place setting for 12, canister set, salt/pepper shaker and a few other items. However, no one had any of the wooden items left. Any ideas on where I may purchase the papertowel holder and bread box? Thanks - Kelli

Sue, You wrote back to me about a month ago (thank you!), and I have another
question now--NOT that you probably don't get this question every day--do
you have ANY idea who might still have some stock on the Sweet Shoppe

I've exhausted Bed Bath and Beyond and nobody seems to have any stock
left.
ACK! Can you help? Thanks, Corey p.s. I just adore your artwork!

I love The Birds and Bees collection that sadly has been discontinued. My mom got me started on that pattern and it reminds me of how faithfull Jesus is with even taking care of the sparrow. If anyone knows or has the soup tureen with ladle or the tea cup with the saucer which are my last pieces i was trying to get for myself and mom before i found out they were being discontinued i would be so so thankful. I have checked out the sango outlet and ebay and anywhere else that was having close outs but no turn up yet. Thank you Sue for such sweet work to be able to enjoy with my mom.

HI THERE! I just recently decided to take up Mosaics from a hobby/business side and was looking for some real 'catchy' looking tiles. Oh my!! Yours take the cake!! Popular??? Oh yes!!! If you see a 'ZIPKIN' out there in the MOSAIC world.....you know you'll have some heavy duty bidding on e-bay for it!! The minute I saw just one of your designs--I was hooked and I had no idea who or what I was bidding on, but just plain 'ole pretty, cheery, and fun looking tiles!! It didn't take me long at all to pick out a 'ZIPKIN' from a mile away!! My children are also educated about 'ZIPKIN' as well because it's the 1st thing i yell out when I see a set offered!! When the 1st package arrived and i actually saw it for real---i was blown away!! It's even better in person than just a picture on the computer!! My kids now know what 'ZIPKINS' look like and when ever I get a new shipment of any tiles, they'll watch me open it and will also yell 'ZIPKIN' as soon as they spot it. And they certainly can spot your work, too!! It's beautiful, charming and just a real feel good kind of art and talent that you put into your designs. Way to go! Beauty of any sort and form is just felt from within and yours is at that perfect level. Good for you and keep up the good work! It's beautiful. P.S. I do plan on buying a few pieces that aren't all broken up into hundreds of pieces!!! I think i'm gonna start off with a nice mug, so while i'm making my Mosaics, I can have a nice hot cup of tea and really be inspired even more!! I hope to send in some pictures of my work made from your work!! Can't wait! Take Care! LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH!!!

I had been looking for several weeks without success to find a set that I really liked until I saw the Sangria display at a local store. Fortunately I was at the store shortly after they got the shipment of this new pattern and was able to get all the pieces I wanted. The only thing I would like to see is a smaller serving platter as the one they had was much to big for my needs.

I purchased two coffee mugs with Java coffee painted on one and mocha coffee painted on the other. I bought these at a Santa Rosa Cost Plus store in California a few years ago and wanted to buy two more to complete the set of four. The other two, I guess was a cappacino coffee and espresso coffee. When I have guests for dinner every single person has commented positively on how the colors and designs set a playful mood for my company. You are a genious. You must understand how spirits lift up through your art. It is most needed in these times. My love affair with the Sweet Shoppe dishes began when I bought a Christmas platter of the pattern. I had a very difficult year. I lost my husband after his year long battle with cancer in June 2002. When I saw the Sweet Shoppe snowman platter, it was so bright and colorful, it really cheered me up. I had plans to remodel my kitchen after the beginning of the year and that platter was always in the back of my mind. As fate would have it on January 4 2003, I fell on the ice and broke my ankle. I had to have surgery and found out I would be laid up for at least 2 months.I thought my dream of remodeling my kitchen would be put on hold.My very dear friend, Mary, who was going to help me with the project said "nonsense,we can still do it." So I sat, foot propped up on my easy chair, and supervised as Mary planned, painted, and tiled. She said "this kitchen needs some color." So I went and got my Sweet Shoppe platter and thus our kitchen designed around your dishes began. Mary had some help from a very competent carpenter friend of hers, Greg. I have picked up quite a few of the dishes and I just love them.Mary is truly a very talented artist and having her in my home working on my kitchen is the best thing that could happened to me.She is an angel and a very special friend of mine. You can see her work in the decorating with zip and the mosaic she did on my table is in the mosaics. Thank you, Sue, for the inspiration on our project. Vicki

Sweet Shoppe Crazy! My best friend, Vicki, discovered your christmas Santa platter and wanted me to re do her kitchen using your colors. Since I'm an artist, I looked your dishes up on E-bay and not only found the dishes, but people who broke them to make the mosaic tiles too! We got so excited,we HAD to do it! I painted her walls, tiled her floor, painted the ceiling fan and existing clock, ordered new chairs from IKEA, purchased a Bistro table from Pier 1 and mosaiced the top. Vicki just broke her ankle and had to be laid up for 2 months. This project was such fun and helped pass the time for her.We are in love with the collection and I think Vicki will have every piece there is by her birthday in April, since her family never hears her talk about anything else. Thanks for helping her recovery go faster. We've become so much closer since this project. From one artist to another, you are a truly talented lady. See our kitchen in 'decorating with zip'. We love Sue Zipkin and the Sweet Flowers design. We have the waste basket and tissue holder for our half bathroom. We now need to have wall paper border to finish it off. If only I had created these designs. We love them all!!!! Thanks. (northern suburb of Chicago)

Love Sweet Shoppe tablewear! Looking for serving bowls that match the set. Don't care for the "Completer Set"--it doesn't really match the other components (i.e., thinner china, not rounded edge/lip such as found on the ice cream bowls & latte cups.) Also, suggest coffee cups with thicker and rounded edges/lips. Love the colors & patterns.

Wow, Sue your web site is amazing and you know I love your work. I only wish I could find Sweet Shoppe in Canada. Will you be looking into distributing in Canada in the future. Us Canadians are missing out on a lot of great houseware items ehe!! XOXO, Terri

I love the Sweet Shoppe pattern. I am still living at home with my mother, but by the time I move out I will have an extensive collection, but I get upset when I go to ebay and see products for sale that I did not know existed and that I don't find in any stores around me! I don't want to miss any of these great items. Thank you for creating them Sue.

I am in love with all Sweet Shoppe pieces. There are very few pieces I don't have. I use them every day and have decorated my remodeled kitchen with lots of the wood pieces, clock, towels, etc. I also purchased 20+ Sweet Shoppe cloth napkins to make a tab top valance to go above my kitchen window. I lined them and I've had many compliments.

Just to add: Are there fabrics that would coordinate with Sweet Shoppe line? I can't wait to decorate my kitchen and dining room to colborate with the dishes. My sister Sue Leatherby is a Painting contractor here in good ol' Rockford, Il just 90 miles northeast of Chicago. The name of her company is SUE-PERIOR DESIGNS, pretty catchy. She does murals, stenciling and faux finishes. Keep up the good work.

I just purchased your designer dishes titled Sweet Shoppe. Fell in love with it. I just moved into a 92 year old house in Sept of 2002 and of course everyone was asking me what my "theme" was going to be, "theme...."???? what are you talking about??? Well actually my sister found the pattern for me at our local Bergners store aka. Carson,Piere Scott. Thank goodness for older sisters.

My sister in law in Atlanta is also an artist, whose style is colorful and whimsical as yours is. I love your designs in dinnerware, and own Sweet Shoppe, service for 24. I am selling my china, and will use these happy, wonderful, fun, creative gems all of the time. Keep designing and brightening up our world! Incidentally, my sister in law, is Leanne Mitchell. She presently is creating quirky, painted plaques for Potpourri Catalog, and uses curly swirls in a good deal of her work too! She has a line of mosaic giftware, and she paints furniture, and on and on.
